Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (the “Terms,” and, together with any order or purchase you make, this end-user license agreement or “EULA”) are a binding agreement between you and Anima (“Anima,” “we,” “us”) governing your use of the Anima mobile app and website (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Eligibility
Anima is intended for adults. You must be at least 17 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to use the Service, and you confirm that you are. The Service is for your personal, non-commercial use.
Your account
You are responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your credentials secure. Provide accurate information and let us know if you believe your account has been compromised. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
The Service & AI-generated content
Anima provides AI companion characters that generate text, voice, and images in response to your messages. Characters are fictional and the content is generated by artificial intelligence. It may be inaccurate, inappropriate, or not reflect real people or events, and it is provided for entertainment. Do not rely on it for professional, medical, legal, financial, or other advice. You are responsible for the content you submit.
Acceptable use
• Do not use the Service for anything illegal, or to harass, harm, or exploit anyone.
• Do not submit content involving minors, non-consensual content, or content that violates others’ rights.
• Do not attempt to reverse-engineer, disrupt, overload, scrape, or circumvent the security or access controls of the Service.
• Do not resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the Service or its content.
License
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service. We (and our licensors) own the Service and all related software, content, and trademarks. The app is licensed, not sold, to you.
Threads (credits)
“Threads” (糸) are virtual credits used within the Service. They have no monetary value, cannot be exchanged for cash, and are non-transferable. Except where required by law, purchases of threads are final and non-refundable. We may change thread pricing and what threads unlock over time.
Subscriptions (auto-renewable)
The Service offers auto-renewable subscription memberships (currently the bond ($9/month), plus ($19/month), and premier ($39/month)). Subscriptions purchased in the iOS app are billed through your Apple ID under the following terms:
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
• Auto-renewal: the subscription automatically renews for the same period unless it is canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period, at the price of the selected plan.
• Managing & canceling: you can manage or cancel your subscription, and turn off auto-renewal, in your device’s App Store account settings after purchase. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• Refunds: payments are processed by Apple. Except where required by law, subscription fees are non-refundable, and refund requests for App Store purchases are handled by Apple under their policies.
Subscriptions purchased on the web are billed by our payment provider (Stripe) on the same recurring basis and can be managed or canceled from your account settings. We may change subscription pricing and benefits; changes apply to future billing periods.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Anima will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from the app’s account settings. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new “Last updated” date; your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
Apple App Store
If you use the iOS app, these Terms are between you and Anima only, not Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
